JP Functional pottery are handmade pieces, individually designed and uniquely glazed. Each Leaf imprint plate is made with actual leaves, flowers or plants. The leaves are rolled into the clay and when the dish is fired, the leaves burn up leaving behind the imprint. Then the plate is glazed with a semi transparent type of glaze to highlight the imprint.
